Caton's Peanut Factory

Mr W Caton purchased the Brickfields and turned them into a caravan site (Tower), his bungalow and the Park Country Club. The Park Country Club was leased out to people to manage.

The Park Country Club

1964 1965

In 1964 the club was managed by Charles and Doris Gilbert, and according to an advert placed in the Southend Standard they offered "The Perfect Escape From Everyday Mundainity" with bar and dining with music.
In 1965 an advert placed in the Local News stated " The ideal club for the discriminating local people. Yearly Membership was 15/- and single person was 10/-. The club was at this point affiliated with Hullbridge Football and Cricket Clubs.
